Farren Timoteo
Artistic Director/Playwright/Lyricist/Director

Farren is an Edmonton-based actor, writer, and director. He is the artistic director of Alberta Musical Theatre Company, for which he has written and directed many productions, including Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Rumpelstiltskin, The Steadfast Tin Soldier, and Hansel and Gretel. Other directing credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee for the Mayfield Dinner Theatre; Everybody Goes to Mitzi's and The Infinite Shiver for Teatro La Quindicina; Pippin for the Young Companies at the Citadel Theatre; The Light in the Piazza for Grant MacEwan University; and Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale for the C'Mon Ensemble at the 2018 Edmonton Fringe Festival. His acting credits include Jersey Boys, The Fiancée, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Monty Python's Spamalot (Citadel Theatre); As You Like It, Shakespeare in Love (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre); The Light in the Piazza (Theatre Calgary); Coriolanus (Freewill Shakespeare Festival); Marvellous Pilgrims (Teatro La Quindicina); Forever Plaid (Mayfield Dinner Theatre); and, Made in Italy (Western Canada Theatre), which he is currently touring across Canada. Timoteo has received a Jessie Richardson Award for his performance in Made in Italy, four Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards: for his performances in Monty Python’s Spamalot and Made in Italy, for his direction of Pinocchio, and Outstanding Original Score for Everyone Goes to Mitzi's, which he shares with composer Ryan Sigurdson. In 2018, he was the recipient of a Broadwayworld.com Award for his performance in Forever Plaid. In 2015, he was included in Avenue Magazine’s prestigious list of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40, in recognition of his artistic contributions to the city. In addition to his work at AMTC, Farren can next be seen in Three Musketeers at the Citadel Theatre.


Stephanie Urquhart
Composer

Stephanie is an Edmonton-based pianist, composer, and music director. She performed with AMTC as the piano accompanist for The Steadfast Tin Soldier in 2015, Hansel and Gretel in 2016, and composed additional music to Jeff Unger’s score of Sleeping Beauty in 2019. Stephanie is a frequent performer and collaborator across Canada. Her music has been featured at international events including the 2019 International Jazz Composers' Symposium (IJCS) at the University of Northern Colorado, the 2017 IJCS at the University of South Florida, and the 2017 Earshot Jazz Festival in Seattle, Washington. She won 2nd place in the 5th Annual Jazz Composition Contest for Women Composers in 2017. She is the current composer-in-residence for McGill Jazz Orchestra 1 in Montreal. Jen McMillan
Musical Director

Jen is an active member of the Edmonton musical community as a pianist, vocalist, music director, clinician, composer, and arranger. Previous favourite theatre credits include First Date, Mamma Mia, Sister Act, 9 to 5, Hairspray, Dark Star: The Life & Times of Roy Orbison, The Simon & Garfunkel Story, Two Good Knights: The Music of Sir Tom Jones and Sir Elton John, Canada 151 (Mayfield), SIX, All Because I'm A Woman, Almost A Full Moon (Citadel). Jen has also lent her skills as a musical director, arranger, or vocalist to other fun projects like singing backup for Ben Folds, Hawaii Five-0 (CBS), The Nature of Things (CBC), Universal Studios Tokyo, Warframe (videogame), and Edmonton Opera Valentine's Gala (GlobalTV).


Shrina Patel
Choreographer

Born and raised in Amiskwacîwâskahikan Edmonton, Alberta, Shrina Patel is a multidisciplinary artist and the Artistic Director of Shaktiflow on Treaty 6 land. Her/their work is based on story-telling with a focus on socio-cultural and gender inequality. Her unique eastern fusion choreography is designed to provoke conversations that challenge the traditional social norms people face based on their gender, race, and ethnicity. For over 15 years, they have collaborated with many local artists and organizations within and surrounding Edmonton, to bring South Asian dance styles to the mainstream and establish her signature choreography. In 2019, she produced and directed her first show Sacred Spaces, in which diverse forms of dance and music illustrated the importance of safe spaces within society. Weaving both personal experience and their degree in Sociology, Shrina’s artistic work, at its core, hold conversations of injustice and healing, which they lovingly refer to as Artivism. Her vision is to create mindfulness through movement and at the root, seed inclusivity, and build community. These days Shrina can be found exploring resilience and the human spirit through storytelling.


Kahlan Oosterveld
Stage Manager

Kahlan is an emerging Stage Manager based in Edmonton, Alberta. She graduated from MacEwan University’s Theatre Production program in 2020 and has been working with various theatre companies since. Select past credits include; Stage Manager for Annette is a Bimbo! (Riser Regina), Apprentice Stage Manager for Tosca, Orphée+, Stabat Mater (Edmonton Opera), and Stage Manager for Passeport (L’Uni Théâtre). Kahlan is so excited to be Stage Managing this wonderful adaptation of Cinderella and can’t wait for you to see it. Enjoy the show!


Hunter Luth
Technical Director/Production Manager

Hunter is delighted to be returning to Alberta Musical Theatre Company as the production manager and technical director to help bring this radical new version of Cinderella to life! Hunter is an Edmonton-based stage manager, technical director and production manager. Selected previous credits include stage managing Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel and One Person Hansel and Gretel (Alberta Musical Theatre Company) stage manager for Cosi Fan Tutte (Opera Kelowna), CTRL-ALT-DEL (Concrete Theatre) and Deathtrap (Teatro Live!) assistant stage manager for Don Giovanni, Carmen, Stabat Mater and Orphée+ (Edmonton Opera).


Deanna Finnman
Costume Designer

Deanna has had a 15-year association with Alberta Musical Theatre creating costumes for shows such as Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Pinocchio. She is excited to share the that magical distant decade of the 1980's with young audiences in this season's Cinderella. Other recent credits include Two Headed Half Hearted for Northen Light Theatre, La Bohéme and Così Fan Tutte for the Edmonton Opera and Jane Hammel's adaptation of Pride and Prejudice at the Citadel theatre which won the Sterling Award for best costume design.


Whittyn Jason
Lighting Designer

Whittyn Jason (they/them/theirs) is a queer, non-binary, mixed-race designer of South African and Ukrainian heritage. They primarily live and create in amiskwacîwâskahikan (colonially known as Edmonton, Alberta), as a scenographer and lighting designer. Their work focuses on site-specific projects and new work development, with an interest in interactive installation. They have designed for black boxes, tiny stages, big stages, indie films, live events, concrete cubes, empty hockey arenas, parties, debauchery, immersive website experiences, shows that have to pack up into the back of a pick-up, haunted barns, impossible projects, abandoned buildings, dive bars, mischief, apartments, river valleys, warehouses, and more. Their work has been seen as close to home as St. Albert and as far from home as Prague, with some stops in between.

Joel Jeschke
Sound Designer

Joel Jeschke is a drummer, percussionist, composer and playback-technician based in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Leading an eclectic career Joel has toured across Canada and the United States and performed on over 100 recordings in nearly every genre, ranging from rock, pop and folk to metal, modern-jazz and electronica. He is best known as drummer and member of alt-rock group, Whale and the Wolf, an independent band with 8 singles charting in the Top 40 for Canadian Active Rock, A Billboard Top 40 placement and several million streams on Spotify alone. He also composes for and leads modern jazz outfit the Joel Jeschke Quartet, who has performed regularly at the esteemed Yardbird Suite jazz club, as well as the internationally renowned 2018, 2021 and 2023 TD Edmonton International Jazz Festivals. Joel is an active session musician whose recorded resume includes artists such as; Laur Elle, Emily James, Margø, Violet Night, Paul Cournoyer, Talltale, Colin Carbonera, Aretha Tillotson, Stephanie Urquhart Quartet, Kate Blechinger, Ways In Waves and many more. Additionally, Joel has extensive experience as a pit musician performing on various musical theatre productions, including the Citadel Theatre’s production of the award winning musical Hadestown. As a playback-technician he has created live sets, utilizing automation and contributed live electronics for Whale and the Wolf, Laur Elle, Margø and Amanda Frances.

Even Gilchrist
Set and Props Design

Even is a queer and trans theatre designer and creator based in Treaty 6 territory. He recently went through University of Alberta's MFA Theatre Design program - feel free to check out other collaborations on his website evengilchrist.com. Previous design credits include: Jersey Boys (Citadel Theatre), I Don't Even Miss You (Tiny Bear Jaws), Cinderella (Alberta Musical Theatre Company), #34 (Globe Theatre), The Innocence of Trees (Theatre Network), Boy Trouble (Amoris Projects), 10 Funerals (Shadow Theatre), In My Own Little Corner (Carly Neis) and Re:Construct (Donkey Dog Theatre).


Caitlin Grant
Cast

A graduate of the University of Calgary's music program, Caitlin Grant is a pianist-clarinetist and music educator. Her love of performing and arranging music began at a young age, where she would boot up her favourite video games and learn their music by ear with her friends. While at the U of C, Caitlin was a five-year member of the internationally-recognised Wind Ensemble, where she played a variety of instruments on top of her role as clarinetist to help fill out the ensemble. She has worked as a clinician, accompanist, soloist, music director, high school choir teacher, and is a co-founder of the Open World Ensemble, an Edmonton-based quintet that plays video game music. She recently completed a tour with the Alberta Musical Theatre Company and is preparing for another year of touring in the 2023/2024 school year. Caitlin is excited to continue working in the Edmonton music, choir, and theatre communities!


Ethan Handford
Cast

Ethan is a 24-year-old emerging artist who is excited to play Uncle Reggie and Prince Huey with the cast of Cinderella. Ethan has been acting throughout his high school career, finding his passions early and enthusiastically. Studying in the theatre arts at Grant MacEwan College he furthered his knowledge of acting, music and dance, completing the program in 2020. He is elated to be performing with AMTC for the first time, and hopes you enjoy the show!

Bhey Pastolero
Cast

Bhey is a graduate of Theatre Arts in MacEwan University in 2021 and is a Filipino emerging artist from Camrose. This is her second time working with Alberta Musical Theatre Company. The first production she did was One Person Hansel & Gretel (2021) and now, she is a part of the company’s new 80’s inspired musical Cinderella.

Recently, she participated in the Alberta Music Festival Association (2023) and bagged two plaques which included Contemporary Vocal Solo – Senior and Musical Theatre Up-Tempo – Senior

On her free time, she is a freelance vocalist. 


Kristin Unruh
Cast

Kristin Unruh is a Persian-Finnish-Canadian actor, singer and dancer from Calgary who has just completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the University of Alberta. Kristin grew up dancing but had to give it up for a period of time to have spine surgery for scoliosis. Kristin is so grateful to be able to dance again and share Cindy’s story, and hopes everyone takes away from the show that we can’t ever let an obstacle be greater than our desire.
